Dias is a distinguished Brazilian artist, amongst the most important figures in the contemporary art scene. He leaves Brazil in 1966 during the military dictatorship, he arrives in Paris and then he moves to Italy and Germany. His language is powerful and original; he conjugates conceptual rigour with figurative elementary signs, pop images, collage, objects, and also photography, film and performance. He exhibited his works in the most important museums and the most prestigious Art Biennials worldwide. His pieces hang in several famous institutions, such as the MOMA New York, the Ludwig Museum in Cologne, the Daros Collection, Switzerland.
