God’s Planet, the new series of drawings by António Olaio, is an example of how the artist explores the plastic possibilities of formal and/or conceptual games in art. In a flux between form and concept, these drawings translate shapes and spaces that are born from drawing, that will be like they present themselves but, mostly, are shapes, spaces, territories in transit. In these drawings, presented as they were fiction, the God’s Planet will be the place to where God retires, temporarily abandoning everything else, included abandoning us. At the same time, a permanent Genesis is fulfilled, like the one the artist searches for the internal games of his songs, the canvas that he paints, his videos and the relation between all this.
