Florencia Gechter explores the power of abstraction to express herself through her artwork. Shape and colour become the aesthetic media that evoke her perspective as a graphic designer. Paint, paper and cuttings of discarded and scrap material that belong to her past and present and carry significance, are the tools she chooses to depict the cuts and folds of existence. The idea arises vague and intuitively and acquires strength as the work develops and finds its full expression. Drama and composition end up determining the piece, with structuring planes of colour and a powerful use of the leftover shape, the absence of it.
