The work of Gonzalo Garcia Callegari is inspired in a very personal view and reflection of the contemporary world. He learns from everything he observes, listens, smells, tastes, touches and feels. His references are multiple, as are the mediums and materials he uses for his artworks, from drawing to painting, from collage to photography. In his works we find concepts like memory, politics and power, everything always loaded with a strong dose of irony, sarcasm, black humour and double meaning, creating therefore a world where nothing is what it seems and everything could be interpreted in multiple ways. In the last years, he has summed to all of the above a strong socio-political component, adding more ingredients to his already nurtured visual proposal and universe.
