Guillermo Mena works by putting together actions that are focused on drawing as an active and performative mechanism. In his performances and installations he conveys an awareness of how we inhabit places in a transitory way, how we transform our surroundings leaving marks and taking something away with us. He reflects through experiences with matter on the nostalgic gesture that humans hold on to, as attempts to preserve remains out of lived moments. Destructive scenarios and procedures are linked to nature and climate phenomena showing signs of an urgent call about the finitude and ephemerality of our home/s and the moments we transit.
