Jenny Michel compiles her drawings in great medial variability. Her new series How we move through time and space was created on the basis of photographs of abandoned places. They were printed, overdrawn and provided with writing and collage elements. These civilizational remnants grow together in the process to make the legible fragments of meaning disappear in the thicket of image layers. The result is “spaces without power” that can no longer be clearly assigned.
Jenny Michel studied at the Kunsthochschule Kassel and the Vienna Academy. She received numerous grants and regularly exhibits in museums, currently at the Kunstmuseum, Reutlingen.
