Joko Kokubun learned Calligraphy under Fujisawa Joshuu and Gado Okamoto. Especially, the calligraphies written by Kawahigashi Hekigotou stimulated her a lot. She also learned tanshi (short poems) under Shigeo Ueda who is famous as a researcher on Yaichi Aizu, a religious scholar and a poet as well, then also learned tanshi (short poems) under Raikuu. Currently, she concentrates on creative activities looking for own style form of calligraphy and poem.
