GERMANY, 1965

Katja Pudor studied painting and fine arts at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee, in Berlin, with Katharina Grosse and finished her studies in 2005.
In her works, Katja Pudor discusses the theme of “time” and creates spaces of superimpositions of thought and action structures. Drawing is the medium that works as a mediating trail and visualises the condensation of time lived through, the capturing of the momentary present that passes and has become the past.
In different combinations – from artists of different genres, to physical places, to materials such as paper, charcoal, ink – different segments of memories, meanings and references are uncovered in the sense of an archaeology of the present and incorporated into the artistic process.
