Kristof Van Heeschvelde’s work revolves around the question on how humanity perceives and cultivates its own importance and the impact this has on human relations. For his drawings and large scale paintings Van Heeschvelde focuses on the study of old masters, such as Tintoretto and Rubens, and how they can relate to our contemporary society. In his series of drawings, Van Heeschvelde uses the silverpoint technique, an ancient technique that makes use of a piece of silver instead of graphite. Kristof Van Heeschvelde has had several solo exhibitions and has been part of group exhibitions in Belgium and abroad.
