Lourenço de Castro holds a BA in Architecture (Lusíada University, Lisbon), and courses in Painting and in Visual Arts (Ar.Co., Lisbon).
In 2002, won an Honorable Mention of the 7th Prize for Young Painters Fidelidade (Culturgest), and in 2014 was awarded with the “Arte Hoje” prize, by Sociedade Nacional de Belas-Artes de Lisboa (National Fine Arts Society).
He has held solo exhibitions since 2005, the year in which his work was presented in Galeria Monumental in a mixed media exhibition that included painting, drawing and video.
Lourenço de Castro’s work is mainly concerned with exploring the way in which images are built, and how during the proccess of its creation a cultural judgement, that evaluates and ponders, takes part.
