As an artist and scenographer, Mar Solís (Madrid, 1967) believes in art as a praise to void in a constant dialogue with imaginary arquitectures, poetical resources and organic lightness, where drawing on space is her philosopher Stone. Her drawings experiment with the line and its multiple fluctuations. The traces of her gestures and her expressive strength result in a workshop between rotundity and delicacy.
Mar Solís has accomplished thirty solo exhibitions in ad outside Spain. Some of them as acclaimed as The Tale of Unknowing Island, Frost Art Museum, Miami. She has participated in sixty group shows and has received grants and awards such as Velázquez Grant, Ville de Paris Grant, Delfina London Fundation, Ojo Crítico RNE Prize, or the first Prize Caja de Extremadura.
