PERU, 1981

In this artworks, Natalia Revilla evokes images as a result of a recent personal journey to the Amazon in Peru, a place she visited as a child, noting the sudden change of the different landscapes and natural areas. Thus, the artist represents a transformation through natural or human intervention. Revilla sees these changes as the traces of multiple crises, both individual and collective, represented as “physical wounds of the imaginary”. This works thus emerges as a process of negotiation between individual memory and the journey marked by abandonment and predation.
