Roberto Mollá has a Fine Art degree. Influenced by contemporary literature, Japanese floating world iconography, and urban landscape, he pays their respect to art historical sources as well. Maker of hybrid paintings and works on paper, drawing on the heterodox intersection of Japanese popular art, surrealism and vorticism, Roberto Molla’s work seems to explore notions of transformation, visual disturbance and memory.
He has exhibited his work in Tokyo while he realised artistic stays at Asaka and Moriya; and in fairs in New York, Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles. He acquired the People’s Choice Award at PULSE NY.
