ARGENTINA, 1931-1989

After exhibiting at Córdoba and Buenos Aires Museums in 1957, Ronaldo De Juan travels in Europe for years, showing his works at museums in Antwerp, Baden, Paris, and at Obelisco Gallery in Rome. He belongs to the second generation of Argentine-abstract expressionist artists; along with A. Seguì and M. Bonevardi was part of the Modern Painters of Córdoba Group. Moved to New York until the end of his life, won the Guggenheim Foundation Award in 1970. His paintings are characterised by the strong colour contrast of his gesture, his works are in museum collections of Buenos Aires and Washington.
