Wendland’s focus on drawing encompasses a variety of possibilities. Thus, she incorporates temporal and performative elements into her practice. By means of performative repetition, her art is about the continuous practice of a mental attitude. The works are created over extended periods of time, reflecting her personal interest in different concepts of time and duration.
Wendland has received various grants and fellowships, such as the Berlin Senate Research Fellowship, the Berlin Goldrausch Künstlerinnenprojekt (project for women artists), the Japanese Government Fellowship, and the prestigious DAAD Fellowship to Kyoto, Japan. Her work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally.
