Susanna Inglada makes highly expressive drawings of people who are involved in an intense, sometimes even violent interaction with each other. Before she started her studies of visual arts she studied drama in Barcelona, her work therefore has a strong theatrical quality. The drawings, often made in a collage technique, are generally three-dimensional; she cuts out the figures and places them in the exhibition space as actors on a stage. In general her work is about the balance of power depicting figures of authority that want to dominate and suppress others who in their turn try to counter this.
