BRASIL, 1979

In Zé de Rocha’s research, the word “risk” stands out, which the Brazilian artist uses as his creative principle, in its meanings of trace and danger.

In this way, the drawings by the Brazilian artist and professor can be associated with different contexts, in which the fascination exercised by fire confirms the coexistence with risk as a factor inherent to the very constitution of the human being. It deals with risk in its recurrence and multiplicity, whether as stroke or line, imminent danger or threat, erasure, drawing of light and darkness.
